The ‘Wide Green Dike’ project studies whether saline dredging products from the Eems-Dollard can be used to produce clay for dike reinforcements. Thus, the coastal strip is kept sustainably climate-resistant through ‘building with nature’.
In order to realise the Wide Green Dike, many partners in the area collaborated including the province of Groningen, the Groningen Landscape Foundation and local tidal marsh owners.
